Article Details

If you have received an email from Homebox about a credit refund relating to your previous Rebel Energy account, this email is genuine and not a scam.

During your time with Homebox, you held an energy account with Rebel Energy. After accounts close, a final review of energy usage is completed. In some cases, this review shows that money is owed back to you. If this applies to you, we will contact you by email to arrange your refund.

Why you have been contacted

You have been contacted because a credit balance is available on your previous Rebel Energy account.

The email explains:

  • A final review has been completed

  • A credit refund is due

  • You need to complete the Customer Refund Form

This form allows us to collect the correct payment details securely.

How refunds are paid

Refunds are paid directly to the registered payer or payers listed on the Homebox account.

If there were multiple named payers, the refund will be split evenly between them.

Once you submit the Customer Refund Form, we will process the refund within 30 days.

How to check the email is genuine

For your safety, it is important to know what Homebox will and will not ask for.

We will:

  • Contact you from an official Homebox email address

  • Ask you to complete our secure Customer Refund Form

We will never:

  • Ask for your online banking password

  • Ask for one time security codes

  • Ask you to make a payment to release a refund

⚠️ Caution: If you are unsure about the email, do not click any links. Contact our support team directly through help.homebox.co.uk and we will confirm it for you.

If you have any questions, simply reply to the original email and our team will be happy to help.
