Who is my water supplier?
Your water supplier depends on where you live in the UK. You can find out who supplies your water using your postcode or by checking your most recent bill.
In the UK, water suppliers are region-based, which means your supplier is determined by the area you live in, not by personal choice. Each region has a dedicated company responsible for providing clean water and handling wastewater services.
If you’ve recently moved home or aren’t sure who your supplier is, there are a few easy ways to find out:
-
Check your water bill:
If you’ve received a recent water bill at your address, the supplier’s name and contact details will be listed at the top. -
Use your postcode:
If you don’t have a bill yet, you can quickly find your supplier using the official Water UK postcode tool here:

Ask your letting agent or landlord:
If you’ve just moved in and haven’t received a bill yet, your letting agent or landlord should be able to tell you who your water supplier is.
Tip: If you’re setting up your bills through Homebox, simply upload any water bills or welcome letters you receive. This helps ensure your account is updated correctly.
Unlike gas or electricity, you can’t choose your water supplier as it’s always based on your property’s location.
