How do we swap names on the bills if a housemate is moving out?
If a housemate is moving out and someone new is moving in, or another bill payer is staying, you can transfer the bills from one account to another. To do this, we’ll need a few details about the new tenant and confirmation from the tenant who is leaving. Once all payments are up to date, we’ll take care of the switch.
How to update account holders when a housemate changes
If someone in your household is moving out and being replaced by a new tenant, it’s easy to transfer the billing responsibility. Here’s what you need to do:
Send us the new tenant’s details
Please provide the following information for the new tenant:
- Full name
- Email address
- Mobile number
- Move-in date
📧 Tip: You can send these details via email or through your portal contact form.
We’ll send an invite
Once we’ve received the new tenant’s details, we’ll send them an invitation to join the account.
✅ Note: The new tenant will need to accept the invitation to be added.
Let us know who’s moving out
As soon as the new tenant has accepted the invite, please tell us:
- The full name of the tenant who is leaving
- The move-out date
Confirmation and account check
Before we can remove the outgoing tenant, we’ll check that all payments are up to date.
🧾 Reminder: Please ask the tenant who is leaving to email us directly to confirm that they are moving out.
Once all steps are completed and payments are settled, we’ll remove the outgoing tenant from the account.
